I Hate Excitement!
If you are a salary earner who has gotten a raise some time ago, did you notice that the excitement prior the raise and immediately after the raise petered away a few months after?
As a writer I’d always think : “If I publish this next book, everything will magically happen.” Then I listened to Brian Tracy say that he writes a book every six months and that bombed my assertion.
We always feel the next raise, the breakthrough in business, or that speech to political leaders, will be the pill to a world of utopia. That rarely happens. Once we’ve bagged that achievement or climbed that wall, we realize that the itch to still achieve doesn’t die. We move on to the next big thing.
The risk is focused on the end game and not the promise. And that’s looking for an exit from the world of creation.
Focus on the path. The thrill of a journey across cities doesn’t lie at the end, but in between the points.
Savour the journey!
